LOCAL PROJECT:
Non-Perishable Food Items for The Community Food Sharing Association
We'll be collecting non-perishable food items throughout the weekend that will help restock the shelves of the Community Food Sharing Association right in the city of St. John's. The CFSA meets the practical needs of individuals and families who struggle with food security. The need is huge and constantly growing! MORE and more people need to avail of the care and provision of CFSA. Let's unite our efforts and give MORE to meet the need!
Every item donated enters your name in a draw! On Sunday we'll be giving away a WIRELESS BLUETOOTH WATERPROOF SPEAKER to one lucky winner! It's our way of saying THANK YOU for partnering with us!
GLOBAL PROJECT:
$15,000 for a VAN in Cambodia!
This year Provincial Youth Ministry in Newfoundland and Labrador is partnering with Global Workers Ian and Tiffanie Rowley in Cambodia to fund a unique and special project - to put a car in Cambodia! This car would provide transportation to young church planters to be able to bring the Good News of the Gospel into the villages and isolated areas in Cambodia. We set a brave and audacious goal of raising $24,000 at YB1, YB2 and Imagine Conference. We've never raised that much at these events before BUT we believed in setting the challenge toward our students and allowing God to move our hearts to make something incredible happen for His kingdom. At Youth Breakaway 1 & 2 this summer our students raised a total of $26, 417.90!!! WOW! In just two of the three events we surpassed our goal!!!! THANK YOU STUDENTS!
So what next? We chatted with our Global Workers to dream about what MORE our students could do as we gathered at Imagine Conference in the fall. Their bold and excited response - a car is amazing but what if we could upgrade to a VAN???? There is an 11 passenger van which would give so much extra space to bring MORE followers of Jesus out into Cambodia with the gospel. The possibilities are HUGE! And students, we believe it is possible!
